9th and Jackson Location
First Baptist Church has a long and rich history beginning on March 1, 1857. Just before Kansas became a state on January 29, 1861, and shortly after Topeka was established.
​
The photo on the left is the second church building that was built on the same corner of 9th & Jackson.
​
First Baptist Church relocated to its present location, 3033 SW MacVicar Ave, in the late 1960s. It was dedicated in May of 1970. A gymnasium and additional classrooms were added in October of 2002.
​
The First Baptist Church of Topeka loves the Topeka community. The church supports many local and international ministries, organizations, and community support groups.
