Wednesday Family Night : February 1 - April 26

Wednesday Family Night is BACK for the spring starting February 1st. We will meet for 12 weeks starting at 5:30 pm with a meal followed by our programming at 6:15 pm for the evening, led by our facilitators. We will not have WFN on Ash Wednesday.

  • Ed O'Rear, facilitator, "The Bible for Grown-Ups", by Andy Stanley. It sets out to help adults make sense of the Bible, a book that is too large to swallow whole, yet too important in our history and culture to spit out. As children, many of us received a Bible and were told everything in it was true. Then we grew up. What was oh-so-simple then is…well, it’s not simple. Perhaps that’s because we were taught Bible stories but not the story of the Bible. Why do the creation stories in Genesis contradict each other? Did the Exodus really happen? Was King David a historical figure? Why is Matthew’s account of the birth of Jesus so different from Luke’s? Why was St Paul so rude about St Peter? Every Biblical author wrote for their own time and their own audience. In short, nothing in the Bible is quite what it seems.

  • Beth Hanes, facilitator, sponsored by L.I.F.T. (Ladies in Faith Together). Imagine waking up every single day convinced that the twenty-four hours ahead of you are a precious gift to be used wisely. Now imagine that you know exactly how to spend them to be a force for God’s good. All too often we wander through life without appreciating the gift of every moment we’ve been given. The result? An unsatisfying life, missed opportunities to experience the joy of being in sync with God, and days marked with apathy instead of passion. Our time on earth is measured. We should want to make every moment count―not only because we aren’t guaranteed the next one, but also because this is exactly how our Savior spent His time here. In this six-week study of Luke, we will follow the life and ministry of Jesus as we consider the choices He made on His way to the cross. We’ll intimately connect with a Savior who remained laser-focused on His mission to love the world. In return, we’ll receive a model for intentional living that we can replicate to ensure we are living each day to the fullest and making a difference for God’s kingdom. And together we’ll determine to embrace the abundant life we are promised in Jesus.

  • Pastor Nate Marsh, facilitator, "Parenting in a Tech World".  Navigating technology with your kids, grandkids, and teens is not easy. It’s always changing. It feels like there is something new every week. But here’s the good news . . . you don’t have to do it alone. The Parenting in a Tech World Small Group Study educates, empowers, and reminds your group that at the end of the day, we could all use a little grace. This course gives parents and caregivers strategies and insights to parent confidently in a technology-dependent world. Every great course has a guide. Through video-based learning and discussion questions, Titania Jordan and Matt McKee will educate how to navigate this crazy world.  They are passionate about keeping kids safe online and in real life. They combine their professional expertise in the tech industry to work at Bark, a technology company that monitors kids' online activity and alerts parents and guardians of potential threats. Join Pastor Nate, the group’s facilitator, as together we learn best practices for keeping kids safe in an ever-changing online environment.
