Shameka comes to us with a heart for ministry, a deep love for God’s Word, and a passion for serving God’s people. She is a dedicated ministry leader, educator, and doctoral student with nineteen years of diverse experience across public and private school sectors, as well as with children and youth pastoring.
Originally from Fresno, California, Shameka is a United States Air Force Veteran who has navigated experiences across five different states due to military relocations. She holds an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education, and also a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry. Currently, Shameka is pursuing her doctoral work at Fuller Theological Seminary, where her research concentrates on intergenerational leadership. Her academic focus centers on institutional leadership and gender equity within faith-based spaces, specifically examining how congregations can constructively dialogue with research to cultivate inclusive, thriving environments. Shameka’s ministry philosophy is grounded in creating structured, welcoming spaces where spiritual growth, lifelong learning, and community accountability go hand-in-hand.
She currently balances her academic pursuits and ministry work from her home in the Atlanta, Georgia metro area. Outside of her professional and academic life, her favorite hobbies include reading, frolicking through the city to find adventures, and discovering a great coffee shop. We invite you to join us in welcoming Shameka Hatcher and her daughters, Aniyah (17 years) and Zuri (7 years)
